The Saskatoon Trades and Skills Centre offers flexible, innovative programming that responds to the employment needs of industries operating in our community.
We create productive partnerships that leverage resources for your benefit. Even if your company only needs a few employees or has limited resources, we can help. STSC can match your company with other partners, or develop in-kind contributions you might bring to a larger partnership that will meet your training needs.
Our programs are developed by experienced professional educators in consultation with industry partners, ensuring that participants receive training that is relevant and can be applied immediately on the job. Students learn in the classroom, and by gaining hands-on experience from knowledgeable instructors.
Custom training courses provide a basic understanding of tools and equipment used on the job, terminology, common safety issues and practices, and other components needed to prepare employees to begin contributing in the workplace. With STSC custom training programs:
- Employers get entry-level workers who can do more and learn faster;
- Experienced workers spend less time explaining the basics to new workers on the jobsite; and
- New employees are less likely to be intimidated, confused or frustrated about their job assignments, and are more likely to feel that they are part of the team.
