
The Saskatoon Trades & Skills Centre (STSC) in partnership with the Saskatoon Public and Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools is pleased to offer an 8-week Fireman Custodian course. This program will provide participants with the fundamental knowledge, practical skills, and all certifications needed to gain employment as a custodian in elementary and high schools as well as prepare for the Fireman Boiler Operator exam and certification through the Technical Safety Authority of Saskatchewan (TSASK). Participants gain knowledge through five weeks of classroom learning at STSC and three weeks of hands-on practical training/work experience in participating schools.

Eligibility
- A minimum language level of CLB Level 7 in all four categories (reading, writing, listening, speaking). **** For applicants with English as a second language****
- Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident and residing in Saskatchewan to apply
- Proof of Grade 12 or equivalent required
- Valid class 5 license is required
- Must be able to provide a clear criminal record check with a vulnerable sector search (cost covered by STSC)
- Must be able to provide STSC with a direct deposit form from your bank for the first day of class (if you are selected for the program). This means if you do not have a bank account, you must have a valid ID to open an account
- Must be able to attend the online Orientation and Interview
